Increasing Sexual and Reproductive Autonomy among Women and Girls in Nigeria Project (2023-2028)

Target LGAs: Chibok, Kaga

Beneficiaries: 15,000+

According to a report by the United Nations Funds for Population (UNFPA, 2021), nearly half of women and girls (45%) worldwide are denied bodily autonomy. This lack of control significantly impacts their lives, affecting their education, employment opportunities, and earnings potential. To address these challenges, Ipas Health Nigeria Foundation is implementing the "Increasing Sexual and Reproductive Autonomy among Women and Girls in Nigeria Project," funded by Global Affairs Canada. This four-year multi-country project, which also includes Bolivia and Indonesia, aims to enhance decision-making power and access to integrated sexual and reproductive health services for women and girls. The project is designed to improve bodily autonomy among women and girls aged 15-49 in Nigeria, with a focus on increasing their access to and control over sexual and reproductive health services. In Borno State, the project is being executed in partnership with Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support (ZEGCAWIS)
