Amplifying Voices: Gender Equality And Women’s Legal Rights Radio Program
By ZEGCAWIS · May 02, 2026
As part of the SEPIN SUSI AGEWEDS project, ZEGCAWIS leveraged radio as a powerful
tool to promote gender equality and women’s legal rights, reaching diverse audiences
across communities with relevant conversations. The radio programme featured a series
of episodes that examined the role of male champions in advocating for women’s rights,
highlighting how positive masculinity and allyship can drive change at the community
level. Discussions also focused on women’s participation in community decision-making,
exploring lived experiences, persistent challenges, and practical pathways for greater
inclusion.
Special episodes marked the 16 Days of Activism 2025, unpacking the annual theme and
equipping communities with knowledge on preventing gender-based violence,
addressing harmful myths that undermine women, and identifying collective actions
needed to build safer spaces for women and girls.
The programme further explored women’s economic empowerment, examining why it
matters, the barriers women face, and strategies for bridging economic gaps. Another
key focus was the role of traditional leaders in enhancing women’s access to justice,
emphasizing accountability, cultural leadership, and community-based protection
mechanisms.
