Town Hall Meeting Strengthens Fight Against Out-of-School Children in Damboa LGA, Borno

By ZEGCAWIS · May 02, 2026

In collaboration with the Borno State Ministry of Education, Science, Innovation, and Technology, funded by the Malala Fund, and in partnership with Bridge for Women Development Initiative, ZEGCAWIS convened a town hall meeting to address the alarming number of out-of-school children in Damboa LGA of Borno State. The gathering brought together government leaders, community influencers, teachers, development partners, and young people to discuss strategies for school enrolment, retention, and safe learning. Key issues were identified, and collective solutions were proposed to ensure every child has the opportunity to complete 12 years of quality education. ZEGCAWIS extends heartfelt appreciation to all participants, including the Commissioner of Education, Executive Chairman of Damboa LGA, Malala Fund, Bridge for Women Development Initiative, GISCOR, UNFPA, NESCOB, and community members, whose commitment demonstrates that denying children education is a form of violence, and protecting it is a shared responsibility.
